Ryan was born and raised in the small New England town of Milford, CT and had grown up visiting his family in Florida for as long as he can remember. After completing high school, Ryan attended Hawaii Pacific University, where the events of September 11, 2001 compelled him to enlist in the United States Navy. Ryan served on active duty in the United States Navy from 2002 until 2008 as a Naval Aviation Warfare Specialist and Naval Aircrewman/Helicopter Rescue Swimmer. He was assigned to permanent home guard duty stations in Norfolk, Virginia and San Diego, California during his enlistment where he was deployed globally on numerous short-term missions and two long war-time deployments to Europe and the Middle East.
After serving six years active duty, Ryan attended The University of San Diego, where he graduated with a major in philosophy and a minor in history. Ryan then attended law school in Miami, and currently resides in Martin County, Florida. Ryan is a member of the Florida Maritime Committee, member of the Martin County Bar Association, and is a member of the Martin County Golf Committee.
Ryan spends his down time enjoying golfing, boating, fishing, surfing, diving, mountain biking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
